Hello! Thanks for visiting my 'ABOUT' page!

I grew up in N.J., where my neighbors  were firemen, teachers,

moms, nurses and policemen. When adults asked me what I wanted

to be when I grew up my answer was always the same, "An Artist!"

After all, I loved to draw, paint and create things. I remember looking

up 'artist' in the dictionary... "a person who is skilled or works in any

of the fine arts, painting , drawing or sculpture.  A person who does

anything well with imagination."

That definition fit me perfectly!

I had a wonderful high school

art teacher, Mr. Acciani, who

helped me enroll in a summer

program at Parsons  School

of Design in NYC. For college I

received my BFA from

Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.

Now I get to draw and paint

every day as the illustrator                                                            photo by Ryan Vargo

of numerous books for children and the author/illustrator of

Señor Felipe’s Alphabet Adventure, a Bank Street Best Children’s Book.

My paintings have appeared in children’s books, magazines, textbooks,

as murals, limited edition prints, and are in private and

museum collections. I have four grown sons and work from my home

studio in Carmel, IN.
